Sunday Snapshot: Four Months to Goodbye!

The countdown has begun!  In only four months we will say goodbye to New York City and head south.

Will I miss it?  Sure!  Since my little girl was not quite two, this has been her city... It truly is a beautiful city filled with "only in New York" experiences.

We are excited for the future though!  Saying goodbye to New York means saying hello to so many things...  A new house, a new backyard (that doesn't sit right next to a major freeway), a new school, a new church, new friends, and a whole new job for Matt and I.

Only four months left here, my final "to do" list has begun!
Annie on Broadway
Spring picnic in Central Park
Coffee, pastries, and a stroll through the Met
One final day with Katelynn at American Girl

Making the most of the present and excited for the future!  Its a good place to be...

Thanks for stopping by,
Fannie

We're moving to...

I've spent the last few days at work obsessively checking every five minutes to see who has received orders! The 'shopping list' got smaller and smaller...

Finally at 5 o'clock today, it was out turn! We had orders and it was time to see where we'll be living for the next four years after 6 long years in NYC!!

Coast Guard Sector Mobile!! Our family will be moving there sometime this summer!! More than likely, this is where our little girl will be brought home!

We are excited!!

Anyone live close to Mobile?? We'll be looking for some friends!! Haha

APPROVED!!! Next step...

On Wednesday our homestudy was finally approved!!!  Yippee!!!

What does that mean?  It means we can move on to the next step of a Chinese adoption- gathering our dossier documents and submitting our I-800 to USCIS for approval.  We have a head start on the dossier documents and expect to have all of them ready in the next few weeks.  The I-800, however, takes around 8 weeks for approval.  We're hoping we can get lucky and walk in to fingerprint early, which would speed it up a bit...  If all goes well, we could be DTC (Dossier to China for my friends just learning about this process) by the first week of April!!!  WAHOO!!

We were also notified yesterday that our files have been moved into the China program with our agency.  We are excited, but I just have a thought about switching to a different agency that I can't get out of my head...  Why would we switch?  A few kids at a different agency have really caught my eye, and I can't help thinking that our kiddo is supposed to come out of the orphanage that has a partnership with a different agency.  Please say a prayer for us as we decide how to move forward from here.

Thanks!
